Tulle

If you are looking to add volume to a wedding gown then adding layers of net or tulle underneath will help you to create the fullness you require.  If you want your bridal skirt to move easily and flow then a few layers of tulle that is a lighter and softer knit will do this for you.  We recommend using Flow, Libretti or Romance tulle for this look or if you would like to add some colour underneath your dress than you can also choose from our coloured tulles: Climax, Carnival and Proficiency.  All of these options are lightweight with a fine knit and will help your wedding dress to ‘swish’ without the stiffness.  These tulles are also used for veiling and drape beautifully.

Net

If you would like your skirt to hold its shape and be more voluminous then you should choose a net that is firmer.  Nets tend to have a larger hexagonal knit and are often starched also.  Look at net options such as Moderation (which is very wide for large wedding gowns), Symphony and FantasyMaestro is a softer dress net.  This stiffness will allow the dress to hold its shape, like many of the Disney Princess dresses, without the need for hoops.  Depending on the volume that you require, you can add layers, often sewing more layers of net towards the bottom of the skirt.

Lining Fabric

The tulle or net should sit between the outer dress fabric and a lining fabric.  The lining fabric will protect your legs from the feel of the net.  Our recommendations are Eclipse (an anti-static lining), and also Trust, a soft lining and Kiss which is a lightweight soft lining and our most popular option.

We recommend you order samples to feel the fabrics for yourself.  These can be ordered on each product page and the first two are free.  Our products are in stock and we have no minimums on quantity or value and we ship worldwide.  Get in touch if you would like any advice about any of our products or creating your dream wedding dress.
