Five Years Ago, Something VERY Special Happened..

Katewedding lace

Time certainly does go by quickly – it has been five years since Prince William got married to his fiancée Kate Middleton over in England! We love a bit of Royal Family action here in the good old US of A and lots of us crowded around our TVs to watch the celebrations. Hard to believe that was half a decade ago, right!? Well let’s look back and remind ourselves of that fairytale romance…

The Couple Meet

College and University are both big meeting places for the love of our lives and it seems it’s no different if you’re one of the British aristocracy! William and Kate were both students at Saint Andrews University when their eyes met, though Kate had a partner at the time and the two were just friends. Things got a little more intimate when the two became roomies and Kate's current boyfriend dropped off the scene - pacing the way for William!

He made his move and asked Kate on holiday with him to a fancy skiing resort – what do you think she replied!? Of course, she went on the holiday and, after that, the two were clearly an item.

The Proposal

William popped the question a good few years later in 2010, announcing it to the world at a press conference. Looking excited and happy, the couple chatted about the proposal and said it was ‘very romantic’, taking place in beautiful Kenya where they were on a safari. Kate wore a gorgeous sapphire ring that belonged to Princess Diana and looked the picture of beauty.

The Dress!

Using Kate wedding lace along with three other varieties, the dress Kate wore at her wedding was a total stunner, with a lovely stain train, elegant sleeves. A blue ribbon was sewn into the bodice and her bouquet was made of four different flowers - one of these was myrtle, a tradition of royal brides in England for hundreds of years. Kate was compared to Grace Kelly, so classic was her look.

Happy fifth Anniversary to William and Kate – we think you guys are fabulous!
