As one of the most exciting events on the celebrity calendar, the BAFTAs never fails to deliver in the fashion stakes. Each year, the red carpet bristles with divine dresses and 2019 was no exception.
Lace fabric is so incredibly versatile that it almost always features on red carpets and couture runways. Many of the gowns spotted at the BAFTAs used lace fabric in their construction but there were two extra-special designs that caught our attention here at Bridal Fabrics.
The first gown that really got us excited was worn by Lily Collins, daughter of the musician Phil Collins. Her look was curated by A-list stylists Mariel Haenn and Rob Zangardi, who chose a delightful Givenchy dress from the hotly-anticipated SS19 collection. The gown, which features floral embellishment, was rendered in a deep Royal Blue color and draped down into a sheer lace skirt: teamed with a satin cropped blazer, the look was a real head-turner.
Taking an altogether more daring approach was Maya Jama, who decided to go without a bra for the event. She wore a black lace dress that left little to the imagination, only a thin lacy layer protecting her modesty. In case the look wasn't racy enough, she wore towering high heels and a skirt with a thigh-high split. Smokin'!
