Dressmaking Fabrics for Dancers and Dance Moms!
The eighth season of TV show 'Dance Moms' has now finished, leaving us all desperate to see more! Ever since the show hit our screens back in 2011, it has been inspiring countless people to take up dancing as a hobby and perhaps even to consider making dance their chosen career.
Clothing is of supreme importance to any dancer. As well as looking fabulous, it also has to perform well when being worn, stretching to accommodate the movements of the dancer without any risk of losing that gorgeous aesthetic. Bridal Fabrics carry plenty of materials that fit the bill perfectly so whether its tutus, ballgowns or any other type of dancewear you want, you'll find the right dressmaking material right here on our website. Here is a small selection.
Available in a massive choice of over 30 different colors from pastel to vivid (order our shade card to see the exact hues), this soft-knitted Italian tulle is extremely versatile. Though especially suited to creating tutus and elegant bell-shaped gowns, Carnival colored tulle is perfect as an overlay fabric.
Extensively used to make wedding gowns and bridesmaids' dresses, Fantasy Net Tulle is also ideal for use in tutus and many other types of dancewear. It's easy to work with thanks to the firm handle of the stuff nylon net and there are three color options available (white, silk white and ivory).
A high elastane content gives Yvonne excellent stretching qualities, which means it is perfect for use as a dancewear dressmaking material. Available in jade, navy, midnight blue, pewter and turquoise, this stretch lace features plain edges and a design of connected flower motifs.
This dressmaking fabric also displays exceptional stretching qualities in two directions. The elegant design of rose motifs looks gorgeous in any of the six available colors: candy pink, Champagne, scarlet, ivory, yellow or aqua.
Colored lace trims and appliques add an unforgettable final flourish and, with the selection carried by Bridal Fabrics, you'll be spoiled for choice! Check out these tutus created by Alison Godbold at Handmade by Alison using powder pink/violet Jessica lace trim and hand-dyed Chloe lace trim.
