Platinum Bridal Fabrics recently received an email from one of our customers, thanking us for our help with providing the wedding dress of her dreams. It is always pleasant to hear from our customers and to see what has been created with our wide range of wedding dress material.
Deanna Holden was married in November after spending months working on her dress. A vintage garment previously owned by her grandmother, the stunning dress had suffered with age; much of the exquisite vintage lace on the dress had yellowed and several frays and tears were evident. Restoring the dress was a complex task, made more difficult by the Holden’s modest budget.
“Both my mother and grandmother were married in the dress,” Deanna wrote, “and I had my heart set on wearing it too. At first, I thought the wear and tear to the dress would prevent it being worn but after calling Platinum Bridal Fabrics and speaking to a member of their helpful and professional team, I realised that my dream could come true.”
Deanna had tried to source vintage lace but had found it prohibitively expensive. After browsing our website and ordering free samples, she discovered Amy Ivory lace in our extensive range. Noticing that the bridal lace was almost a perfect match for the damaged lace on the vintage dress and that it was well within her budget, Deanna realised that her dream of restoring her grandmother’s wedding gown was achievable.
“It took quite a lot of work to make the dress perfect,” Deanna told us. “When I finally finished, after much help from the Platinum Bridal Fabrics team, I was so happy. My mum burst into tears when she saw the completed dress for the first time and told me how proud my grandmother would be. I hope to be able to pass the dress on to my own daughter in the future”.
