Hip hip hooray!  Spring is finally emerging and don't we just love to see the colour of the crocuses and daffodils under a blue sky in the fresh, cool air.   The wedding industry in the UK is finally coming out of hibernation from this dreadful pandemic and it couldn't be a better time!  In this edition of the blog let's look at the Spring colour bridal trends that we can finally get excited about!

I get sooo excited about these blogs because it's an outlet for my own enthusiasm and avid reading around bridal trends.  The main colour trend coming through is most definitely a lovely soft pastel palette of colour that compliments the bride and is full of such great tones for bridesmaids.  A bouquet that incorporates fabric colour is also a great way to add cohesivity to the whole wedding.

Here are some of the standout soft bridal colours of the season:

Peach is such 'go to' warm, Spring colour and what better way to adorn the bride tribe in a soft coral or lovely peach.  This is such a pretty colour my recommendation would be to go with a silky satin with a light and luxurious drape.  For this fabric sample Splendour which is the most gorgeous example of soft silkiness!

Lavender - so pretty and a removal from the top spot of pink or rose. Lavender or lilac looks best in a light, soft, sheer and floaty fabric such as a silk chiffon like Tempest.  Avoid the deeper tones of purple and aubergine with heavy fabrics such as a Duchess satin which may well emerge for the winter season but are not for now.

Water Green or Sea Spray. Water Green is very light green, without the depth of Sage and is a subtle and ethereal tone. Sea Spray has an aqua marine undertones but is also a light pastel tone.  As with the lilacs and lavenders, I feel that the green tones are better showcased in a light and floaty sheer fabric. Serendipity has a lovely Water Green within the range and is a very soft fabric with a delicious handle.  It's also a poly option so budget friendly.  For a Sea Spray colour I'd recommend silk chiffon Tempest or perhaps Magnifique which is another silk satin option.

Hyacinth - sounds rather specific but this is a blue based colour with some purple tones within it and is not sky blue.  Yes, I know it's not strictly a pastel colour but I just HAD to include it as it's one of my faves and it is on trend for 2021! For this deeper colour there are opportunities to choose a heavier fabric and we do have a wonderful sandwashed double crepe called Tantalise which is a luxurious fabric with an exquisite drape. Choose either Hyacinth or Joyce Blue which is a close colour option in case I'm being a tad too prescriptive!

In terms of a floral choice how about Hyacinth plants as table settings and/or floral decor -  a really eco friendly fabulous idea as well as surely making the whole wedding reception room smell of Spring!
