After months of frenzied speculation, the moment that Meghan Markle's wedding dress was finally revealed stunned viewers all over the world. A pure white boat neck wedding gown from French fashion house Givenchy surprised everyone, literally taking our breath away.
Meghan's gown was designed by Clare Waight Keller, who is the artistic director at Givenchy. Chosen for her "timeless and elegant aesthetic" and "impeccable tailoring", Clare was the first female artistic director of Givenchy, following in the footsteps of fashion icons like Alexander McQueen and John Galliano.
The bodice of the gown framed Meghan's shoulders and emphasised her waistline. Three-quarter length sleeves gave the gown a perfect finishing touch. Double-bonded silk cady was used to create the gown, underlaid with a triple silk organza skirt.
What really caught everyone's attention with the long, wide and dramatic veil, which stretched out for five metres behind the bride. The exquisite floral detailing on the veil represented all 52 member countries of the Commonwealth, with which Meghan and Harry will be officially involved with now that they've tied the knot.

The minimalist pure white gown was a lesson in luxury and we can't help but be tempted by our wonderfully luxurious Silk Double Crepe with Sand Washed Finish Temptation. This fabric has a lovely soft feeling and drapes beautifully. This fabric has no sheen and is luxurious when worn next to the skin. Ideal for flowing garments and regal brides.
Parisienne is a luxurious, heavyweight silk fabric that is just perfect for getting that regal look. With the softest drape, the pure tactile pleasure and that satisfying swish, this Crepe Backed Silk Satin Royal is the best of the best.
Our Sensation veil fabric is also 100% silk and is perfect for recreating the light, ethereal veil worn by Meghan. A larger size is also available and then we call it Phenomenon, which is certainly is!
Meghan's veil and neckline were trimmed with many floral designs and so floral lace trim is an essential for recreating her gorgeous look. Try the enchantingly-feminine Bluebell, with its delightful corded detail, or go for Sweet Pea with its carefully-arranged floral motifs.
Our final recommendation is Martina, which is a heavily-embroidered Guipure lace trim. After embroidery, the backing has been removed and fine cording used to highlight flower and foliage edges. The final royal touch is added with delicate beads, expertly hand-sewn onto the fabric to embellish flower petals and define the border.
