And the Bride Wore...

Pippa Middleton looked AMAZING!
Met Gala 2017: Celebrities in Lace Reading And the Bride Wore... 3 minutes Next Oh Pippa!

Well, didn't the bride look amazing?! And you ALL know exactly which bride we mean! Yes, Pippa Middleton stepped straight into the limelight as she tied the knot with James Matthews and her dress was absolutely amazing. Some said that it was even better than her more-famous sister’s gown but we aren’t taking sides when it comes to lace!

Did you get an invite to the wedding? You didn’t!? Ah well, never mind; neither did we. But here are some inside-information titbits to give you a flavour of the royal(ish) nuptial ceremony…

Pippa doesn’t become a duchess like Kate; instead she gets the courtesy royal title of Mrs Matthews of Glen Affric. This is because hubby James is heir to the scottish Laird of Glen Affric title. We think she will probably just use ‘Pippa Middleton’.

That car! Yes it was a super-rare Jaguar E-Type that they left the wedding in. The car really suited the well-dressed couple and in fact actually looked like an extension of their outfits.

Eagle-eyed fashionistas spotted that Pippa was wearing the same diamond-drop earrings that she had on at her sister’s wedding; these were Pippa’s ‘something old’

Spencer of Made in Chelsea fame is James’s younger brother and served as best man. He apparently managed to stop staring into the mirror for long enough to safely deliver the rings. Well done, Spence.

The word ‘obey’ was omitted from the vows; Pippa won't be told what to do!

Though not a queen or princess, Pippa still had to have a palace. More than £90,000 was spent on creating a glass structure in her mum and dad’s back garden. It took three days to build.

And… that dress! A gorgeous high-necked gown with a lace bodice, designed by Giles Deacon. Cap sleeves, heart-shaped detail and an illusion of seamlessness made Pippa look amazing and the pearling over organza and tulle matched perfectly with the bespoke silk cotton lace.

We love seeing a good celeb wedding and know that it always inspires our customers to get creative! If you are feeling inspired, then why not start creating your own dream dress today? And you’ll have to call someone about building a glass palace in your backyard while you’re at it…
