Black Lace at the Golden Awards
The 75th annual Golden Globes awards are the talk of the town right now, as much for the clothes that the stars wore as for their movie appearances! Black lace was especially popular and two of our favorite actors both chose to wear the evocative fabric. Emma Stone, star of Battle of the Sexes, vied with Penelope Cruz (of Pirates of the Caribbean fame) for the attention of the paparazzi and we’re not sure who won! Both of the gorgeous girls looked amazing in our opinion!
Emma’s one-shoulder gown had plenty of the wow factor and was designed by Louis Vuitton. The fine lace was the focal point of her outfit and she looked excited, happy and natural in carefully applied makeup. Penelope chose her dress from the Ralph & Russo collection, opting for an off-the-shoulder design which featured a stunning train.
The current atmosphere in Hollywood and campaigns like Me Too and Time's Up was the main focus of the night, these are focused on bringing about change for women in both the entertainment industry but also around the world.
Black lace is excellent for theatrical costumes and eveningwear like that seen at the Golden Globes and is firmly on the couture map. Each year as Prom also approaches, many dress designs are created using Black Lace. Here at Bridal Fabrics we have lots of black lace designs to choose from or you can achieve a more subtle look with a selection of black lace trims.

This is a wide lace with asymmetric edges - one gently scalloped and one straight.
The addition of spandex during manufacture makes this a very stretchy fabric, so complex designs can be easily created.
An ebullient and energetic design with double scalloped edges, Ember is particularly attractive.
No matter how you use this lace trim, it is going to look absolutely divine.
