Adore the Guipure! Three Favorite Designs

Guipure lace has a long and rich history dating back hundreds of years. It is a particular type of bobbin lace which uses bars and plaits to connect the main motifs, whereas other types tend to use net or mesh for this purpose. Bridal Fabrics stock a large and ever-growing selection of guipure lace; here are three of our enduring favorites.

Guinevere lace became an instant hit the moment it was introduced to our collection and has barely declined in popularity since. It is a classic example of guipure lace, with a clesly-packed arrangement of floral motifs, each linked to the others with vine-like leaves.

Altogether, the design produces an extremely visually-arresting aesthetic and is a favorite of brides with a sense of discernment. Available in white or ivory, this stunning guipure lace is manufactured in Italy.

Flowers, leaves and hearts of many different sizes and styles are brought together in this riotously beautiful lace design. Though featuring so many different design elements, there is no sense of any of these jostling for attention; the design is particularly harmonious and covers the entire body of the lace, with each element standing in its own right.

The heart motifs continue into the identical edges of this design, featuring prominently along the fine scallops. Only available in classic ivory, Courtney lace can be complemented with optional edging and appliqués; these are perfect for creating veils and trains that match the main dress.

Ivory embroidered lace GiannaGuipure Lace: Lucy

Lucy is a stylish Guipure lace with an all over design on a silver metallic filigree webbed ground. A series of flowers are connected by an intricate web of swirls.

Both edges have an identical floral theme and are finely corded and embroidered, whilst a small metallic cluster is an eyecatching ground feature.
